RayFire 1.66 Released Posted over 4 years ago by Simon Day - Posted in General

An update for RayFire has been released, a 3ds Max plugin we are particularly fond of here at AV3.

Version 1.66 is available as a free update to owners of 1.64 and 1.65. If you have an earlier version you can upgrade for a very afforable price

What's new in RayFire 1.66?

A new feature in the latest version is the Advanced Bricks modifier.

This allows users to fragment geometry into bricks and provides a wide variety of options to control the layout of bricks. For a better explanation of this check out the promo video of this new feature

Options for the Advanced Bricks Modifier:

- Partial fragmentation. Fragment only area which is inside the gizmo.
- Brick size by Size in worldunits or by Bricks count in a Row
- Brick size variation per Brick and per Row
- Row Offset for X, Y and Z axes
- Random Split for bricks over X, Y and Z axes
- Position Extend and Rotate for outer bricks
- Gap property
- Automatic mapping and Material ID for capped faces
- Explode to objects

The developer has also released a tutorial to get you up to speed with how to use this new addition to RayFire.
