Beauty Box Video 4 available for OFX Applications and Avid Posted about 4 years ago by Simon Day - Posted in General

Digital Anarchy's industry standard skin retouching plugin has been expanded to function on Avid and OFX applications.

Beauty Box Video 4 adds near real time rendering for removing blemishes and wrinkles from film, 4K, and HD. This latest version harnesses the power of the GPU, supporting Nvidia’s CUDA technology, providing a significant improvement to rendering times on Nvidia GPUs. It also further refines OpenCL support and increases rendering speed on AMD GPUs.  With newer powerful cards such as the GTX 980, real time rendering can almost be acheived.

For several years Beauty Box Video has been a go-to tool for dealing with skin and makeup problems that HD and 4K video can result in. It’s become the industry standard for doing automatic skin retouching and digital makeup. The update to Beauty Box 4.0 makes it the fastest way of doing this, without any drawbacks.

Beauty Box Video 4.0 solves these problems by giving subjects an incredible makeover in post-production, using state-of-the-art face detection, masking, and smoothing algorithms that preserve important details and the natural skin texture. All this combines to create realistic digital makeup. The retouching is subtle and the resulting video looks natural creating a look that is indistinguishable from real makeup.

"The only complaint we’ve had with Beauty Box has been the speed. By using Nvidia’s CUDA and OpenCL we’re excited to announce that users will be able to achieve real time rendering. Making Beauty Box not only the best digital makeup plugin, but the fastest.”

-Jim Tierney, Chief Executive Anarchist of Digital Anarchy

Beauty Box Video 4.0 currently works in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro and Apple’s Final Cut Pro X, Avid, Davinci Resolve, Assimilate Scratch, and other host applications that use the OpenFX API."
