AV3 Partners up with the BFX Festival Posted about 5 years ago by Simon Day - Posted in General

We are pleased to confirm that we are now official sponsors and partners of the BFX Festival, a week long celebration of the visual effects industry and its creativity.

The week will be split into three different sections. An academic conference, a festival and workshops.

The Festival will comprise of presentations, workshops, Tech Demos, a career hub, public screenings and family friendly events. AV3 will get involved in the presentation and tech demo side of things, along with sponsoring the event we have organized a product demo for Boris FX products which is sure to be an impressive display. Our involvement may extend further than this, but this is all we can confirm for now.

The whole festival schedule is filled with activities that will be up just about everyones street, from professionals, to hobbyists and families. Also to look forward to is the results of an intense 7 week competition aimed at the best visual effects students in the country, and a subsequent screening of the fantastic works created. A great opportunity to see the incredible standard that is being set by the young ones. (Take a look at the BFX Festival YouTube channel for some of last years entries)

An impressive line up has already been confirmed for the workshops, with more to still be announced in the upcoming weeks. The workshops will allow you to be tutored by some of  the best creative minds in the industry today.

Paul Kidby (artist of choice for the award winning writer Sir Terry Pratchett), Scott Eaton (artists in the field of digital sculpture for films such as World War Z, Spielberg’s War Horse, Wrath of the Titans), Eric Scot Shaw (Staff Writer for SpongeBob SquarePants, Walt Disney Animation Studios), Adam Redford (Senior Texture Artists for Gravity and Wrath of the Titans) and Melania Fodritto (Nuke trainer and NCCA lecturer) are all confirmed so far.
