IBC 2016 News: What's coming to Adobe Creative Cloud Posted over 1 year ago by Simon Day - Posted in General

Adobe have plenty of new and exciting updates to share at IBC this year.

If you're at IBC you can go check them out in person at Hall 7, Stand 7.G27.

For those not attending, we can share everything we know so far about the new features coming to Creative Cloud.

Scroll to the end if you'd like to watch a recording of a live streamed event from IBC that goes over all the features.

After Effects CC

New 3D renderer

Now you can create 3D text and logos without ever leaving After Effects, doing so quickly and efficiently. Bend planes and extrude 3D text and shapes directly inside the timeline, utilising the power of Cinema 4D’s standard renderer. The new 3D options are beginner friendly, allowing you to control quality and render settings using a single slider, and work with the same familiar camera, lighting and text animation tools.

Improved performance

For this coming release, processing on the GPU will be smarter and more often put to work, along with some under-the-hood features that are going to make things faster all round. Several effects will now be GPU-accelerated that previously were not. The majority of footage can now also play back in real-time before effects are applied, without waiting for it to cache.

Team Projects

Not just specific to After Effects, but a feature that will likely be used inside it more so than the other Creative Cloud apps. Team Projects is a new hosted collaboration service that allows groups to work simultaneously in shared projects within the Adobe CC video applications. Team Projects enables deep collaboration features, like version control and smart conflict resolution, with all the project data securely hosted in the cloud. Media files referenced by Team Projects can be locally stored source files or shared lightweight proxies.

Improved Live Text Templates

Sharing a live text template with a Premiere Pro user previously meant having to provide a collected project with relevant assets. In the upcoming CC version you can now pack that comp and its assets into a single, easy-to-share file with everything your editor needs. There’s also one thing they won’t need: a licensed copy of After Effects to use the template.

TypeKit sync

If you use TypeKit fonts in your compositions and share a project with collaborators, any fonts they don’t have installed will sync automatically when they open the file.

New project from template

Create a template with project settings like color management and folder structure, and use it as a base for new projects you create. If you’re working with other users you can keep everyone on the same page by sharing a template file in a synced CC folder.

Premiere Pro

The biggest news coming from the Premiere Pro camp is the new auto-aware VR, available in the next release of Premiere Pro CC

Watch this video to get a full overview of this brand new feature.

Along with the above, the next version of Premiere Pro also adds the ability to create, adjust, and truly customize captions and subtitles, a feature many have requested for quite some time.

Check out a preview of this in the following video.

If you want to take a more in depth look at all the new features coming to the range of Creative Cloud video applications, get comfortable and watch this hour long recording of a live stream from IBC, presented by Jason Levine.
